Myddleton Road – finalist for Best British High Street London
Myddleton Road in Wood Green N22, had been nominated as finalist for a prestigious prize and a monetary award. With voting now closed the local communities that live, work and shop and socialise in the street await the results to be announced shortly.
The Judges have now completed the visits to the “place” finalists. They were made very welcome and saw some amazing demonstrations of what the finalists have achieved. The public voting phase closed at mid night on Friday 18th November. A record-breaking amount of votes were cast, doubling last year’s number and demonstrating how much you want your chosen place or person to win.
The announcement of the category winners and the overall winner of winners, crowning the Best High Street in the country 2016, will take place at the Awards ceremony in central London on Monday, 12th December.

Over the last five years, Myddleton Road has been turned around by the local community and local businesses working together to make Myddleton Road a destination. Crime is down, visitor numbers have increased and new award-winning restaurants and shops are opening.
Brigid Simmonds, the Chair of the Forum’s Local Partnerships work stream and CEO of the British Beer & Pub Federation, discussed the The GB High St competition with Greek Beat Radio and commended its vibrancy and progress.
Although the voting has ended why not visit the Myddleton Road winter festival on 4th December. Not long to go until Sunday 4th Dec! We’ll have loads of great stalls, fun fair rides, live brass band and choir, bars, and the best Santa’s Grotto you’ve ever seen.
